Qvevri Wines

Qvevri wine-making is an unique method of making wine practised throughout Georgia, where varieties of endemic grapes are grown. The Qvevri is an egg-shaped earthenware vessel used for fermentation, storage and ageing of traditional Georgian wine. Archaeological excavations in the southern Georgia uncovered evidence of grape pips and Qvevris dating back to the 6th millennium B.C.
